I think this is the hardest thing I have sewn, but I did it, though the pants are purchased. The shirt, vest and jacket were all made by me. Also, I added a collar to the vest because all the pics online showed vests with collars.

Complete

The bonnets were purchased, though I added flowers to mine. :) Otherwise, they are all done. So now to decide whether or not to make Cutie a matching costume. I also am not happy with the bow on mine, though that is easy enough to swap out. I think the bow should be bigger, but that was the last of that trim. I think it looks much better in person- my pics are not very good and not a true reflection of color.

Dress Progress

Well, here is my dress. It is still just a pile of cut out fabric- but it used to be a pile of uncut fabric. I am using this yellow, flowery print (which is the same print, but different color, as Bin's). The yellow will be an overdress and the dress will be the white fabric, shown below made into a bolero for Bin's dress. I am using the current Simplicity Regency dress pattern. The color on the yellow is better here then it was on the last blog post, where it looks like a very bright gold. This is much closer to actual color. Though the purple fabric next to it is not at all accurate colorwise.
Here is Bin's dress. Isn't it cute. For some reason, try as I might, I cannot make the color in the picture match the color it actually is. It is a very standard purple- not light purple, not dark purple- just purple. I tried different lighting, different angles, different cameras, different f-stops and exposure times and it always came out as too blue.
Here you see the beautiful cupcake sash and collar more clearly. This is a dress for a preschooler, and cupcakes make her happy, while even sorta pretending to be historically accurate does not.
This pic shows the bolero that I made in case it is cold (hey, there are one of two cold days out here, so it is possible, if not extremely unlikely). The bolero is the same fabric that my underdress will be. This color is closest to the real color, but still not quite right.

I think that it will look much more clear that the dress is regency when I add the bonnet (which I have no doubt Bin will steadfastly refuse to wear). I am being lazy and ordering it online. If I had leftover matching fabric, I might have tried to make it myself, but the fabric was on clearance and there was just enough for the dress. I am going to get it on ebay (see link- aren't they beautiful looking!).

Fabric

That should be purple. And I know it won't be historically accurate, but hopefully close enough. :)

Doggy Crate

Crate cover for Loki, and a little flap to cover Mars' entrance way. Bin was very mad at me for making something for Mars- she said, no, Loki's. The flap on the front of Loki's crate will soon have snaps (didn't realize I was out) on the sides, so that overhang is intentional and useful. This is the first thing I have sewn without a pattern or a completed version to follow. I suspect that there were probably better ways of doing this, but, it looks nice and it does exactly what I want, so I can't complain too much. :)

Turandot WIP

Iris bookkeeper- WIP

Bin's Birth Announcement

Bin's birth announcement (with her actual name edited out).

Cutie's Lighthouse

Here is my husband's completed lighthouse cross stitch. I really like the frame he picked out for it.

Dragon cross stitch

Here is my latest completed cross stitch. Since it is framed and I needed a flash, I couldn't help the glare, so I tried to center the glare on the wizard's fire ball.

Skirt

Skirt I made- needs to be ironed still.

Crafts

I am currently interested in several different crafty kind of hobbies. This blog is here to showcase all of them. So, what kind of projects might I show here? Well, I am currently learning to sew, so I will probably be putting up those completed projects. Right now, I mostly do costumes (because no one really pays that much attention to quality there) and clothes for my daughter. I am also hoping to make some doll clothes as well soon.

I also enjoy cross stitching so I will put up some finished work as well as WIPs. My husband sometimes cross stitches, so I might put up some of his work.

I rarely paint warhammer figures, but if I do and they look cool, I'll put up pics of those. In addition, I might put up some of my daughters amazing artwork. :)

Since these projects all take a long time, I don't plan to update often, and mostly, this will just be pics. Hope folks enjoy seeing (or in most cases, being forced to see) my crafty projects.
